This morning I followed my usual routine:
- let the dogs out
- let the dogs in
- feed the dogs
- pour coffee (Thank God for the blessing of a husband who makes it in the morning)
- take said cup of coffee to the backyard and let the chickens out
- feed the chickens
- be fascinated and stand there watching the chickens
Walking back to the house I was struck by the light reflecting off the pond. My brain registered, albeit groggily (still hadn’t finished that cup of coffee), that there was a picture there of God’s awesome majesty. We didn’t make it to church this morning – but I was surely present in God’s Church this morning.
The baby decided to nap just as we were getting ready to go to church, so I stayed back to let her rest. Thanks for bringing me into “presence” of mind and heart…
Great Picture. I agree with Rick – Important to take even the small moments to spoke in the “Peace” that is around us even in the midst a chaotic and troubled times. The reading today from the “24he a day” 12-step book stated –
~ “Spiritual Progress is the law of our being. Try to see around you more and more beauty and truth, knowledge and power. … You can accomplish much good through the strength of God’s spirit in you.”
I’m glad we’re camping today – Especially since it is in the Back Yard
